September Morn'

Here we are into September and lots of things are happening. I became a great grandmother on Wednesday. Little Amiyah Jayde Abston came into the world weighing in at a mere 5lbs and 11 ozs. She is changing already... I think she is going home today. I will see her next week. Larry and I are off on another oddsey of travel. We are heading up to Jekyll Island for a few days then on up to S.C. to see Amiyah and then to North Carolina. We want to go to Joyce Kilmer State Forest and spend some time. It will be a little cooler especially at night. We are looking forward to being away... Doubt if any of the leaves will have turned yet... We are taking our Natasha cat. I know she is looking forward to it...hahaha...

A new baby is like the beginning of all things, hope, a dream of possibilities.

Sunday afternoon.. Natasha is all stretched out in the window. Larry is reading his library book... Had a nice early dinner. Chicken from Publix... It was good with their potato salad, beans and a nice glass of wine... life couldn't get much better, if I could only get the rest of the gang to straighten up. ha ha...

This quote keeps coming to me.... The only thing we have control over is how we react to things. People will only rise the their level of intelligence and this is so true. I think Eckert Tolle said this on Oprah's show regarding a question about how there could be so many people doing bad things. I always remember this whenever I hear or see people do unkind things. Hope your evening is pleasant...

Morning...

Saw the fox again. We thought someone might have done away with him, but there he went running across the grass into the woods... Had a powerful storm last night. Everything is washed and bright this morning as I sit here looking out the window at the bright August morning... The bumble bees are busy already hopping into the purple mexican petunias. As they land their weight makes the flower tremble and sag. No sooner has he entered the blossom until he is off to another one... Such is life. We no sooner get one thing completed and there we go working on something else. Larry says behavior equals consequences!!! .. Before I say something ask myself what do I expect the results of my word to be.
Off to swim....

Today is slipping by quickly.. Sunlight is slanting through the moss hanging from the old oak tree making patterns of shadow and light on the earth. The chimes are calling out their evening song for all to hear... Evening breezes rustle the cabbage palm leaves and shakes the moss making it dance in the hot afternoon air. I know cooler weather is just around the corner. Purple mists of knowing float in and out of my consciousness as I day dream.. Thats a lovely thought.

I am writing on my new little dell notebook. it is cool... I bought it especially for blogging. I hope to do this daily.

Just have to get used to the keys. TODAY was a great day. I skipped my aerobics swim class and instead just played with my journals. I make a lot of pages and they are all so nice. I plan on scanning some to my blog occasionally. There are so many talented journal mixed media artist out there. I love to watch their videos on Utube... This evening is very quiet and restful. Larry talked to Jack and Jean up in Pa. We are going on a trip to Canada with them next spring. They bought a camper for their truck. I guess it is called a truck camper. They have a very big fifth wheel, but want something smaller for this long trip. Should be fun..
Not thinking of that yet because we have a 3 week vacation coming up in September. Going to South Carolina to see new great gran baby and then on the North Carolina to our old haunts.
That's all for tonight.

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you; Don't go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want; Don't go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don't go back to sleep."

This picture was taken on the Natchez Trace Trail in Tennessee on the northern part of the trail during the flood in May. It is actually a road in the campground which we camped. It was beautiful and sureal with the mist rising off the water. The whole campground was flooded and we were lucky enough to have a spot in front of the restaurant owned by the campground. Needless to say the restaurant was not open.. The next day we tried to drive into Nashville, but the interstate was closed and the Cumberland River was flooding the interstate we wanted to be on. After a long detour we finally make it into Kentucky and on with our trip. It will be remembered for along time...
